BBA Admissions Guidelines

Students who meet the following minimum requirements will be automatically admitted to the Professional Program in Accounting:

  1. 3.0 cumulative grade-point average
  2. 3.0 grade-point average for all University of Iowa course work
  3. A 2.67 (B-) grade-point average for 6A:00l Introduction to Financial Accounting and 6A:002 Managerial Accounting
  4. Admitted into the Tippie College of Business
  5. Declaration of accounting as a major

Applicants who apply to accounting but do not meet the accounting admissions requirements will be reviewed by the Department of Accounting. All accounting applicants not admitted to accounting, but admissible to the College, will be asked to select another major within the Tippie College of Business.
