Admission is open to all majors

The number of semesters to graduate depends on your undergraduate major and more specifically, the courses you took. If you majored in accounting in undergrad, you'll probably need just two semesters to complete the MAc degree. Non-accounting majors typically need more time, but it depends on your undergrad courses.

Accounting majors

Pick the clearest and most rewarding path to your CPA licensure and earn a master’s degree in just one year. Make your 30 hours count by maximizing your odds of passing the CPA exam and earning a degree that will set you apart throughout your career. No GMAT is required for UI undergraduate accounting majors.

Non-accounting majors

Fast-track to a career known for its stellar job prospects. The MAc offers you a path to a business master’s and CPA licensure at the same time in this 2-year program (includes prerequisites). Application deadlines

Admission to the MAc Program is selective and we have limited capacity. Apply before the priority deadline to be considered for scholarships and other financial awards given by the program.

Fall (August)

Priority deadline: December 15

Final international deadline: March 15

Final domestic deadline: June 15

Spring (January)

Priority deadline: October 15

Final international deadline: October 15

Final domestic deadline: January 1

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree

Earned from a regionally accredited college/university or equivalent from another country. We accept students from all undergraduate majors; an accounting degree is not required.

GPA

3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or foreign equivalent.

GMAT

The GMAT is not required for admission nor at any point during the program, but can strengthen your application for admission and scholarship eligibility. If you decide to include a GMAT score, you’ll have the option to upload it in the online application.

English proficiency: TOEFL/IELTS

International candidates only. Minimum scores are 100 iBT and 7.0 IELTS (no subscore <6.0).
