The University of Iowa has received a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to help Faculty Innovators propel their startup to success.  The Faculty Innovator Workshop Series will meet four times this fall to help faculty members determine the product/market fit of their idea as well as the market potential. At the conclusion of the program, participants are encouraged to proceed with Venture School’s regular six week session or the National I-Corps Program.  Those accepted into this workshop receive a $2,500 grant from the NSF and access to the Venture School mentor network as well as 40% increased approval rate for SBIR/STTR grants. The University of Iowa Venture School’s Faculty Innovator Program is in partnership with UIRF, UIVentures and the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.
