This National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) workshop for TCOB undergraduate students is a highly interactive five hour workshop (meal included) in which participants increase their leadership skills in the area of cultural competency, and essential skills in the global workplace. Participants will work on developing pride in their own identities, explore their "records" about other groups, listen to stories and experiences of other groups, and practice engaging hurtful comments, jokes, or slurs. Participants must be available for the entire five hours and must RSVP to brooke-paulsen@uiowa.edu by October 9 to participate. This is an Admit One approved program. |
