What is the Faculty/Staff Campaign?
The University of Iowa and the UI Foundation have launched an annual fund program focused on giving from faculty and staff (We are PHIL). Within that program, the TCOB is holding a special campaign during the week of October 21-25, 2013 (NOTE: campaign has been extended to November 1!), to provide added visibility and awareness of this annual fund program. While we are hoping to greatly increase participation over the course of the special campaign, all contributions between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014, will count toward the college's overall participation rate for the year.
Do I have to give to a TCOB fund or can I give to any part of the University?
Any gift to the UI Foundation counts toward this week's campaign.
If I give after the first week of the campaign, will it still count?
Yes! The campaign has been extended to November 1.
How do I turn in my pledge sheet?
You can make your pledge online, or drop your pledge envelope in the black box in the Dean's Office. In either case, be sure to ask the office staff for your We are PHIL/We are TIPPIE bracelet.
What are the We are PHIL/We are TIPPIE bracelets, and how do I get one?
These bracelets are provided to anyone that puts a pledge form in the collection box. Visit the dean's office with your bracelet and they'll provide you with one Keurig coffee cup to be used in the faculty/staff lounge. The Dean's Office staff will mark you off when you come in (to ensure one cup per donation/pledge).
Will other faculty and staff know if and what I'm giving or pledged?
No. The only people who see the actual pledge forms are staff at the UI Foundation. They provide us with updated (and completely anonymous) participation numbers each day.
What are the department competitions about?
It's a friendly competition between departments and the emphasis is on participation. Two department prizes will be awarded: 1. highest overall percent of participation—free box lunch for your whole office at your next meeting; and 2. largest improvement in percent participation—free cookie platter at your next meeting. In addition, one person from the college will win bragging rights and a trophy for being the winner of Thursday's fun competitive activities! (NOTE: the winner was Eean Crawford!)
