Dr. Sarah Fisher Gardial
Sarah Fisher Gardial was named dean of the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa in 2012.
Previously, she was the Beaman Professor of Business at the University of Tennessee where her leadership roles included Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, as well as the College of Business Administration’s Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Assistant Dean for the Full-Time MBA. Previously, she served as the president of the MBA Roundtable, an association of national and international MBA leaders focused on curricular innovation; and has served in various activities for the Graduate Management Admissions Council, including annual conference chair.
At the University of Tennessee, Sarah was the recipient of several teaching awards and taught in undergraduate, graduate, Ph.D. and management development programs. Her primary research interests are in the areas of customer value and satisfaction, including the publication of a book, numerous articles for journals and conferences, and speaking and workshop engagements. Over the years she has worked with a variety of companies including Procter and Gamble, Frito-Lay, Eastman Chemical and TRW.
She earned her undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University of Arkansas and her doctorate in Marketing in 1986 from the University of Houston.
A native of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Sarah and her husband, Jeffrey Gleeson, enjoy motorcycle riding and travel. She has two grown daughters, Meredith and Julia.
