I3 Award — Acting Out Our Mission

Guiding Principles:
The purpose of this award is to recognize a member of the Tippie staff who demonstrates one or all of the following areas related to the TCOB goals, mission, and values.

  • Integrity: Demonstrates strong ethics with an air of humility.
  • Innovation: Develops fresh initiatives, new approaches, or process/task improvements that lead to efficiency or effectiveness.
  • Impact: Leaves a lasting influence on the students, faculty, and staff of the Tippie community, going above and beyond the call of duty.

Selection:
A selection committee will be composed of two current ESC members, one former ESC member, and two neutral parties (e.g., one faculty member, one student) to assist in recommending the finalists to the Dean. A numeric ranking system will be used to evaluate the nominations. The top three nominees will be forwarded to the Dean for final determination, and s/he will have the discretion to make zero, one, or more awards each year. Individuals can only receive this award once every three years.

Selection Process:
Nominations may be submitted by anyone in the college or anyone who is affiliated with the college. The nomination should include a brief paragraph by the person initiating the nomination plus additional paragraphs from two other faculty/staff members or students supporting the nominee.

Nominee qualifications:

  • a regular employee
  • at least 50% time
  • a minimum of one of year of service to the Tippie College
  • may be either a P&S or merit staff member
  • an individual or a team may be nominated.

The award winner will receive a certificate and $100 award, or in the case of a merit award winner, one hundred dollars toward an educational conference or training of his/her choice.

Rookie of the Year

Guiding Principles:
This award recognizes a new staff member who has made significant contributions to the TCOB during his/her service and gone above and beyond during his/her limited time in the college. The Rookie of the Year should also show potential for further contributions to the college.

Selection:
