Finance Academy: Behavioral Finance Add to your Outlook Calendar

Remember when someone would demonstrate how your mind plays visual tricks on you where you think you see something you dont? (Jump on over to visualfunhouse.com for some examples!)

Well, your mind plays tricks on you with numbers as well.

Behavioral Finance is the field of study that looks at why your mind guides you to decisions and conclusions that arent always correct.Basically, you have mental biases which you may not even know about. And even if you do know about them, you cant do anything about it.Anchoring, Overconfidence, Herd Behavior and Confirmation Bias are all ways you may not make decisions in your best interest.

Tom Rietz, our Faculty Director, specializes in research in this area, and he will share with us in Academy just what is Behavioral Finance and can we help ourselves????
