The Tippie College of Business U.S. Bank SpeakerNatalie Laackman is CFO and VP Finance of the Specialty Channels Business at the Kellogg Company. Prior to joining Kellogg's, Natalie held SVP Finance and Group CFO positions with Newell Rubbermaid, ConAgra Foods and Sara Lee Corporation as well as senior finance roles with Kraft Foods. Natalie started her career at Deloitte in the audit practice. She has extensive global experience in consumer packaged goods, SAP integration and M&A. Ms. Laackman earned her MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. She earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Accounting from Northern Illinois University. She is active in her community, serving on the AgriBank Board of Directors, Kellogg Executive Women's Network, and the Chicago Zoological Society.

He has spent a majority of these years working on the Target business, but has also worked with Supervalu. Join the School of Management Advisory Council (SOMAC) members as they share business knowledge with MBA students.

  1. Business Analytics. Participants will discuss the use of big data and analytics to support a firm's marketing, financial, operational, and strategic success in global business.
  2. Cultural Competencies.  Participants will discuss the need to manage global companies with an understanding of cultural paradigms, perspectives, sensitivities, behaviors, and values.
  3. Global Strategy. Participants will discuss how to best enable the organization to achieve its strategic objective of successful international expansion and how a firm should manage global presence, sourcing, and customer reach to achieve global competitive advantage.
  4. Financial Strategy. Participants will discuss the implications of the worlds financial markets, regulatory developments, recent financial failures, and economic climate on the financial strategy of a global firm.

Marketing Academy Guest Speaker: Shailesh Sood (Hilton Worldwide) Add to your Outlook Calendar

Shailesh is a senior business executive, with global experience in Marketing, Customer Loyalty, Product Management, CRM, Analytics and Strategy. In his current role, he has global responsibility for CRM and marketing analytics functions for the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of brands. Most recently, he was with Discover Financial, where he managed a line business with $300 million of EBITDA and successfully turned it around. His previous experience includes marketing and strategy consulting for six years with McKinsey & Co. and Accenture, where he helped leading organizations on a range of marketing and strategic issues, and worked in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Shailesh has also worked as head of marketing at Realization Technologies, where he built a successful startup. His years in the Silicon Valley nurtured an inclination for entrepreneurship, which continues to date. Early in his career, he worked with a Nabisco subsidiary where he received training in packaged goods marketing and subsequently worked in marketing roles. He holds a PhD in Business Administration, an MBA and Bachelors in Technology.
