SI Academy: Back Bay Battery Simulation (First Years Only) Add to your Outlook Calendar

In this fast-paced simulation, youll play the role of a business unit manager at a battery company facing the classic Innovator's Dilemma. Players will have to manage R&D investment tradeoffs between the unit's existing battery technology versus investing in a new, potentially disruptive battery technology.  Over the course of eight simulated years, youll address a number of challenges including the timing and level of investment across both mature and new businesses, choices regarding market opportunities and inherent product performance characteristics, requirements to meet constraining financial objectives and constant trade-offs between investment options, all in the context of uncertain market information.

Marketing Academy: Mike Draper, Founder and President - RAYGUN Add to your Outlook Calendar

Youll rarely find a more interesting, fun, and innovative organization than RAYGUN.  Founder Mike Draper began selling custom made t-shirts on the streets of Philadelphia as an undergrad at UPENN, before opening his first RAYGUN retail store in Des Moines in 2005.   Mike will join the academies to share his story of building a business from nothing, and how they have built an unbelievable culture and brand in the process.

Finance Guest Speaker: Sarvjeev Sidhu (AEGON) Add to your Outlook Calendar

Sarvjeev Sidhu, Global Head of Emerging Markets at AEGON Asset Management, will be joining us for lunch and a chat on Friday, Feb. 14th in W401 PBB.  Pizza will be served at 11:45am and the presentation will begin at noon. 

This is such a timely presentation as the emerging markets have been thrown into a period of flux, and he has a tremendous expertise and is a fabulous speaker.  Second year MBAs, you may remember Sarvjeev from an academy session last year.
