Global Learning Opportunity (GLO) in the UAE 2015

MBA:8500:01 Seminar in International Business: Going & Growing Global in the UAE

The UAE trip will include a visit to two of the Emirates: Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Dubai is the seventh most visited city in the world and a hub for international trade, with one of the world’s largest ports and a state-of-the-art transportation infrastructure. It benefits from being one of the most business-friendly places in the region. The early success of Dubai’s economy was mainly attributable to its significant oil industry. The city now has thriving real estate and construction, financial services, information technology and tourism sectors and is home to many multinational companies.

You will also have the chance to visit Abu Dhabi, the capital and home to important financial institutions and government entities. One of the world's largest producers of oil, Abu Dhabi has actively attempted to diversify its economy in recent years through investments in financial services, technology and tourism.

Experience Arabian culture and hospitality, learn how Islam influences business practices, and even ride a camel! Check out student reflections on previous UAE GLOs by visiting the Tippie blog (2013, 2014) or viewing a video recap here.
