Hari Ramakrishnan - President

Undergraduate institution: Anna University, Engineering
Prior Career: Consultant/Senior Business Analyst
Why this student organization and position: The organization's mission is to continue to develop the Tippie brand and create positive impact in the local community. TBSA’s goal is continue to provide opportunities for professional development for my classmates and myself. TBSA hopes to provide students a peek into the consulting world, opportunity to meet and learn from influential business leaders and prepare them for a career in consulting.
Interests: Sports, Music, books and photography. I am currently learning the nuances of American Football from my peers. Go Hawks!

Sehar Noor Shah - Vice President

Academy/track: Business Analytics / Supply Chain & Analytics
Undergraduate institution: Cornell College, Economics and Business
Prior Career: Project Manager for Vivid Exhibition Displays
Why this student organization and position: TBSA will facilitate my professional development and hone my leadership skills. I would like to grow TBSA into a support platform that students can use not only to network with influential leaders in the industry and be provided with opportunities to learn more about the business in a hands-on, interactive way, but also to lead meaningful initiatives relevant to their career paths.


Tianxiang Ma - Treasurer

Prior Career: Assistant Vice President, HSBC Commercial Banking
Why this student organization and position:TBSA will facilitate professional development in consulting field for me and finance is what I am good at.
Interests:Soccer, Badminton and Skiing.

 

Fall Events

  • Career Exploration Trip to Des Moines: The TBSA arranged the Fall Career Exploration Trip to Des Moines on the 23rd of October 2014. As a part of this trip, students visited three major companies: Hagie manufacturing company, Pioneer and Casey’s General stores. Not only was this an opportunity to learn about the organizations, industry and their challenges, but it was also a great platform to interact closely with the members of the leadership teams in these companies.
  • Tippie Table Talks: Tippie Table Talks is a networking event that is facilitated by the Career Services team of the Tippie School of Management. During this event, students got the opportunity to sit across the dinner table with several key alumni of the Des Moines area and closely network with them.

Spring Events

  • Career Exploration Trip to Quad Cities: A Spring Career Exploration Trip, similar to the Fall Trip was organized by the TBSA on the 29th of March, 2012. Students visited the World Headquarters of Deere and Company and interacted with key members of the leadership team. The students also visited a micro distillery: Mississippi River Distilling Company and learnt about the intricacies of managing a start-up.

Ongoing Events

  • Consulting/Case Interview Club engagements: The TBSA runs the Consulting/Case Interview Club. The Club helps students in preparing for Case Interviews.
  • Student Scholarships: The TBSA is planning to sponsor a number of certifications like PMP (Project Management Professional) and Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
