Comments: We have developed this assignment over a number of year and found that the more we can tie it to topics in the class the more successful it has become. We use Apple, IBM, Microsoft and the S&P500 in many class examples and have added several sections to the original assignment to tie it more closely to class. We use the short version in the undergraduate class. The long version is more suitable for more advanced students.
