Madrid Internship Placements

The Tippie College has partnered with EUSA to bring Iowa undergraduate students a customized academic internship opportunity in Madrid. The program is nearly 9 weeks in length, and begins with a three-day orientation to the city and the Spanish workplace. Immediately following the orientation and placement interviews, your eight-week internship begins.

EUSA places more than 1,800 students per year across Europe in professional practice internships. These unpaid placements cover a variety of sectors including:

  • Business, Finance, Economics
  • Television, Film, Journalism
  • Arts, Culture
  • Health Care, Social Issues, Education
  • Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations

Internship Placement Process

As part of the internship placement, students accepted into this program will need to prepare a professional resume and complete online forms for EUSA. Along with the individual phone meeting with EUSA, which will be held in February or March, the resumes will be used by EUSA to identify placements for each student accepted into the program.

Students applying for a EUSA internship will be asked about their preferences as to the industry and the type/size of firms/organizations they would like for their internship, but they cannot request placements in specific companies or firms. EUSA does make great effort to accommodate students' preferences, but cannot guarantee specific placements.
