BTA Competes at 2013 AITP National Meeting
Twelve Tippie undergraduate students—Cody Kehl, Megan Moran, Caitlin Bruggeman, Renxuan Xiao, Karly Holland, Mallory Brandt, Ben Ransdell, Scot Alzheimer, Dalton Friedhoff, Alex Staroselsky, JT Sandbulte, Dan Senter—participated in the Association of Information Technology's annual National Collegiate Conference in St. Louis in April. More than 500 students competed in 12 technical competitions.
Dan Senter and J.T. Sandbulte's team received Honorable Mention in the Network Design Competition. Two teams in the Business Analytics Competition also received Honorable Mention—Karly Holland and Renxuan Xiao, and Caitlin Bruggeman and Dalton Friedhoff.
The Business Technology Association (BTA) is the premier organization for undergraduate students pursuing a career in information technology. The BTA delivers valuable professional development, networking, and career opportunities to its members through monthly meetings, professional trips, and certification courses. BTA members come from various majors and educational backgrounds. The majority of members major in business analytics and information systems, computer science, or electrical and computer engineering. Members also include students majoring in finance, marketing, management, and biomedical engineering. Students with any major are invited to join the organization.
The BTA has relationships with numerous companies in a wide range of industries, including State Farm, Microsoft, Cerner, Principal Financial, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Pearson, Alliant Energy, Rockwell Collins, Monsanto, and Accenture. BTA alumni typically move on to careers as systems analysts, business analysts, network administrators, security auditors, and project managers.
The Business Technology Association is an officially recognized chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP).
