Each year, the Tippie School of Management Full-time MBA Program has the opportunity to welcome students from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The partnership with Erasmus provides one to two students per semester the opportunity to experience studying abroad at a top tier MBA program. Students take classes with MBA students and are fully integrated into the fulltime student experience.
Tippie hosted two students from Erasmus during the spring 2012 semester: Alexander Khaykin, a Master of Science in Global Business & Stakeholder Management student, and Philip Dehghan, a Master in Science in Finance and Investments student. Both chose Tippie because of its reputation, opportunity to gain ‘real-life expertise’ through experiential learning and from interaction with their experienced classmates, as well as the opportunity to experience education and living in the States.
The semester at Tippie provided both with numerous opportunities to experience the Tippie community, academic environment, and life in Iowa and the United States. When asked what he will miss most, Alex shared, “Even though I have spent only four months in Iowa City, I got to know very bright and interesting people. Some of them became good friends and I hope that one day I will have the honor to return the great amount of hospitality I experienced... It has been a pleasure to be a part of such a great community. Tippie is a place where I could not only grow academically but also broaden my cultural horizon. The Hawkeye spirit will be remembered, and Iowa made long-lasting impressions.”
