Business Journalist Marshall Loeb To Speak at Tippie College Sept. 21
Loeb, who has been managing editor of two leading business magazines—Fortune and Money—will speak at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 21 in the Tenneco Colloquium, Room S401 of the Pappajohn Business Building.
The New York Times called Loeb "...one of the most important and influential business journalists of the 20th Century." Under his leadership, Money became the fastest growing magazine in America, while Fortune was the first business magazine to win the National Magazine Award for General Excellence. Most recently, he served as editor of the Columbia Journalism Review.
Loeb is currently senior correspondent and columnist for MarketWatch from Dow Jones, a leading business and financial news web site, and a commentator on CBS Radio. He is a noted speaker and personal finance pioneer who has written 14 books, including "52 Weeks to Financial Fitness: The Week-by-Week Plan for Making Your Money Grow."
He is visiting the UI in conjunction with a luncheon program sponsored by the Advertising Federation of Cedar Rapids, which will be held on Sept. 22 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cedar Rapids. Loeb will share his insights on 10 trends in the new global economy and how these trends will impact business owners. Cost for this event is $30 for an AdFed member, $35 for non-members, and $20 for full-time students; registration is available online.
