UI Graduate Contributes $250,000 to UI's Insurance Institute
The mission of the Emmett J. Vaughan Institute of Risk Management and Insurance is to provide a comprehensive program of innovative education, research and leadership in the field of risk management and insurance by educating students and augmenting the professional skills of Iowa's insurance employees.

Eginoire received his B.G.S. degree from the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is the chairman and CEO of Lockton Risk Services Inc. in Overland Park, Kan.
Lockton Risk Services Inc. designs and administers insurance programs for association, franchise and affinity groups, offering property/casualty, life/health and other related products to individuals and businesses. The company is a division of Lockton Companies Inc., headquartered in Kansas City and one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in the nation.
Eginoire's gift has helped the UI raise nearly $3 million of its $6 million goal for a variety of the institute's initiatives, which include an endowed chair and directorship, endowed professorships, an undergraduate scholars and internship program and seed money for core objectives.
The Vaughan Institute is named in memory of Emmett J. Vaughan, a UI professor emeritus and world-renowned insurance scholar who was instrumental in establishing the UI's insurance institute. Vaughan died in October 2004.
"The Vaughan Institute links the worlds of insurance and education by establishing a strong academic foundation on which to build learning and professional development throughout the state," said Larry Hershberger, director of the institute and a former senior vice president at TIAA/CREF.
Eginoire's $250,000 gift for the Vaughan Institute is part of the UI's $1 billion comprehensive campaign, which runs through Dec. 31, 2005, and is being conducted under the guidance of the UI Foundation. Named "Good. Better. Best. Iowa: The Campaign to Advance Our Great University," the seven-year effort is raising private funds to help launch a variety of initiatives across the university, substantially increase the number of UI scholarships and endowed faculty positions, support new educational and research facilities, build the UI's endowment and fund outreach and service programs to benefit Iowans.
