Summer Enrollment up at Tippie College

Enrollment at the University of Iowa for the 2001 summer session has increased by 157 students, for a total of 11,371, compared to the 2000 summer session, according to a report issued by the UI Office of the Registrar.

Most of the total increase of 157 students includes an increase in junior and senior liberal arts degree candidates, up 128 students over 2000. The Henry B. Tippie College of Business also showed small increases in the numbers of junior and senior BBA degree candidates.

Enrollment in the university's three-week session were up 367 students over last year, from 1,760 students in summer 2000 to 2,127 in 2001.

Following is a comparison of summer enrollments for 2000 and 2001:

Tippie College of Business: from 537 to 609 (+72)

School of Management: from 476 to 522 (+46)

Dentistry: from 246 to 248 (+2)

Education: from 378 to 363 (-15)

Engineering: from 347 to 408 (+61)

Graduate: from 2,978 to 2,997 (+19)

College of Public Health: from 26 to 47 (+21)

(Numbers from Public Health are included in Graduate College count)

Law: from 255 to 235 (-20)

Liberal Arts: from 4,486 to 4,514 (+28)

Medicine: from 1,150 to 1,129 (-21)

Nursing: from 224 to 217 (-7)

Pharmacy: from 137 to 129 (-8)

Total University: from 11,214 to 11,371 (+157)
