Pomerantz Center Sponsors Public Engagement Career Week
The programs will provide students with information on career options as well as opportunities to network with employers seeking to fill internship and full-time positions. Students of all majors are encouraged to attend the events.
"This is a unique opportunity for students to connect with employers from the government, non-profit, and human services sectors without leaving campus and to explore career paths they may want to know more about," says Sherry Hingtgen, student services and event coordinator at the Pomerantz Career Center.
Programs that will take place throughout the week are "So, You Want a Job With the Federal Government," "Non-Profits and Public Engagement: A View from the Workplace," and "So, You Want a Job with a Non-Profit." For a full schedule of the weeks' events, times and locations, please visit the Public Engagement Career Week website.
As part of the week, the Government, Non-Profit, and Human Service Career Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 at Old Brick Community Center. Some participating employers include the Iowa Division of Banking, Orchard Place, and Woodward Academy.
