Women's Leadership Conference set for Oct. 13 in Pappajohn Business Building
The conference titled "Living the Life of a Leader: A Work in Progress" is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Pappajohn Business Building. The conference is sponsored by Hewitt Associates, a global management consulting and outsourcing firm specializing in human resource solutions.
The conference is not only open to all UI students, but to anyone who wants to enhance their leadership skills.
Chesca Colloredo-Mansfeld of the Hawkinson Institute of Finance at the Henry B. Tippie College of Business, will be the kick-off speaker for the morning. Before coming to the UI, Colloredo-Mansfeld was a top executive at eToys and Citysearch, and worked as an analyst at Goldman Sachs.
The luncheon address will be given by Marda Higdon, UI alumna and retired senior vice resident for business planning and strategy in wireless networks group at Lucent Technologies.
-- "Celebrate Your Identity" and "Permission to Dream" with women's leadership consultant Ginny Wilson-Peters. -- "Negotiation Strategies for Women" with Terry Boles, professor of management and organizations at the Tippie College of Business. -- "Dealing with Conflict Confidently and Professionally", with Nancy Hauserman, associate dean of Undergraduate Programs in the Tippie College of Business. -- "Job Search Strategies" and "How to Accept a Job Offer" with Hewitt Associates. -- A panel discussion on balancing career, community and family.
Conference fee is $5 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch for the first 50 applicants.
