Bandag CEO Carver Will Discuss Leadership in UI Lecture March 26
Carver's lecture, which is part of the Pearson Leadership Lecture Series, is free and open to the public.
A native of Muscatine, Carver earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Iowa in 1970 and an MBA from Indiana University in 1972. He joined Bandag subsidiary Heavy Duty Parts, Inc. and the Bandag board in 1979. He became Bandag chairman in 1981 and CEO in 1982.
In 1986 Financial World magazine named Carver CEO of the Year in the rubber and plastics industry. In 1989, the same magazine named him as the CEO of the Decade in the broader category of the chemicals industry. He is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
Carver's community service includes significant support for UI athletics and arts and the Tippie College of Business. The University of Iowa Alumni Association honored Carver with a Distinguished Alumni Award for Achievement.
