Supervalu CEO, UI Alumnus To Speak at Tippie Forum
Noddle will discuss his personal observations on leadership and management and also provide an overview of Supervalu, particularly its history and its recent acquisition of the Albertson's food store chain. He will also give his thoughts on the food industry in general.
The event is free and open to the public.
Noddle has been CEO of the country's third-largest retail grocer since 2001 and chairman since 2002. He also was president from 2000 to 2005. Before holding those positions, he worked in numerous executive and management-level positions in the company since joining Supervalu in 1976.
In his current position, Noddle oversaw the Twin Cities-based company's recent acquisitions of chains such as Albertson's, Shaw's, and Jewel-Osco. The company's other chains include Cub Foods, Save-a-Lot, Osco pharmacies, and its flagship chain, Supervalu. He also strengthened the company's wholesale distribution and grocery supply chain subsidiary.
In addition, Noddle serves on the boards of the Food Marketing Institute, the Food Industry Center at the University of Minnesota, and the Academy of Food marketing at St. Joseph's University.
Noddle's lecture is part of the Tippie College of Business' Pearson Lecture Series, which is supported by the local office of Pearson Educational Measurement.
