Tippie Students To Prepare Taxes for Free As Part of Program Beginning Feb. 24

UI students in the Tippie College of Business are offering free tax assistance to qualified Johnson County taxpayers as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. People who earned less than $40,000 in 2007 can have their tax returns completed and electronically filed for free by Tippie students and other volunteers who have received special tax preparation training. Tippie volunteers will provide tax preparation services at the Iowa City Public Library from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays Feb. 24 to April 13, excluding the week of March 17 for spring break.
