Alumni Win Technology Start-Up Award for Business Developed as Tippie Students
Two University of Iowa alumni were recently honored for a business they started while students at the Tippie College of Business.
John Slump and Jared Garfield were presented with a Prometheus Award in the "Student Start-up of the Year" category for their Iowa City-based company, J&J Solutions. The company has designed a drug-handling system that keeps hazardous medications from coming in contact with people while the drugs are being prepared, administered, and disposed.
Presented by the Technology Association of Iowa, the Prometheus Awards promote innovation and high-tech excellence in Iowa, honoring companies and individuals who represent the best and brightest in technology.
