Gateway Computer Founder Ted Waitt to Speak at UI Oct. 9

Ted Waitt, a former University of Iowa student who went on to found computer giant Gateway, Inc., will talk about his life as an entrepreneur when he speaks at The University of Iowa at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9 in the Bedell Entrepreneurial Learning Lab, 322 N. Clinton St.

After attending The University of Iowa, Waitt founded Gateway in Sioux City in 1985 and built it into one of the world's largest personal computer companies. He left the company in 2005 and now heads Avalon Capitol Group, the Waitt Family Foundation, Waitt Institute for Discovery, and Waitt Institute for Violence Prevention.
