Accounting Professor Penno Receives Top Paper Award
Mark C. Penno, professor of accounting in the UI Tippie College of Business, received the 2009 Accounting Horizons Best Paper Award from the American Accounting Association (AAA) for his paper, "Rules and Accounting: Vagueness in Conceptual Frameworks."
The Accounting Horizons Best Paper Award is presented to the best paper published each calendar year in the AAA publication, Accounting Horizons. The award winner is selected by online voting open to all Accounting Horizons subscribing members of the AAA.
Penno's research focus is analytic models of the accounting process, which he has applied to management accounting, auditing, and financial reporting. His current research emphasizes the nature and role of rule-structures.
