Information Reception for Des Moines MBA Programs Set for June 4

The Henry B. Tippie School of Management at the University of Iowa will hold an information session for its Executive MBA (EMBA) and Evening MBA programs 6 p.m. June 4 at the W.A. Krause Center for Entrepreneurial Education, 6100 Grand Ave. in Des Moines.

Since 1978 the EMBA Program has provided top managers from Iowa's leading companies the opportunity to learn along with some of the brightest people in the corporate world on the Iowa City campus. Now that program has been expanded to Des Moines to better serve central and western Iowa companies.

The 21-month EMBA program begins in August, with classes meeting on alternating Fridays and Saturdays at the Krause Center. The Tippie School will admit approximately 40 professionals to participate in this unique education experience, which is structured so students needn't take time off from their jobs.

The same UI business faculty members who teach in the Iowa City EMBA program will teach in the Des Moines classroom, giving students the benefit of motivated, accessible instructors who are current in management expertise and renowned for their research.

Students will receive instruction in a broad range of business and strategic models and will learn how to apply those models in their work places every week. Through work in permanent study groups, students will also practice teamwork and how to leverage individual strengths for the benefit of an organization.

The Tippie School has been offering Evening MBA classes at the Krause Center since 1999, serving about 200 students each year. Information about Evening MBA classes in Des Moines and Newton will also be available at the June 4 session.
