Tippie Commencement Ceremonies Set for May 13-15

Jerre SteadThe School of Management (MBA program) will host a ceremony for 199 graduates at 10 a.m. at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Conference Center on Friday, May 13. The speaker will be Thomas L. Aller, senior vice president-Energy Resource Development, Alliant Energy and president, Interstate Power and Light Co., an Alliant Energy Company.

On Saturday, May 14, five Tippie Ph.D. graduates will participate in the Graduate College ceremony at Carver-Hawkeye Arena at 3 p.m.

The Tippie College of Business will confer 568 undergraduate degreesat 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. UI and College benefactor and alumnus Jerre Stead will receive an honorary doctorate at the commencement and speak to the graduates.

UITV will record all three ceremonies. These events will not be presented live on TV or the web, but they will be broadcast later on UITV. For more information, visit www.uiowa.edu/~uitv/programming/Commencement.htm.

Seats for the undergraduate and Graduate College ceremonies are not reserved, and tickets are not necessary for admission. Doors will open one hour before each ceremony. Because of safety concerns, guests will not be allowed to take in large bags or backpacks. Also, security officials reserve the right to inspect purses or camera bags.
