Fifth TippieBuild Home to be Dedicated on Saturday

The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business’ fifth home built for Habitat for Humanity will be dedicated at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at 2547 Whispering Prairie Ave. in Iowa City.

On hand will be the family that will live in the house, Mahamadou Traore and Aissata Diallo and their three daughters. Mahamadou immigrated to the United States from Ivory Coast in 2002 to escape the civil war. Diallo immigrated from Mali in 2004.

The house was the fifth built as part of the Tippie College’s TippieBuild partnership with Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity. The houses are built during the academic year with volunteer labor provided by students, faculty, and staff from the Tippie College of Business.

Students also hold numerous fundraisers for Habitat for Humanity that have raised more than $250,000 for the organization during the five years. More information about TippieBuild is available at
