PwC Partners with Department of Accounting for Diversity
The Department of Accounting in the Henry B. Tippie College of Business has partnered with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the world’s largest international accounting firms, to draw more minorities to the Master of Accountancy (M.Ac.) Program at the University of Iowa. PwC has announced it will supply a grant that helps provide funding to allow the Department of Accounting to place minority students in research assistant roles.
“This grant allows students to actively participate in department activities and interact directly with faculty by serving as research assistants on faculty and student projects,” explains Doug DeJong, professor of accounting and departmental executive officer.
“This is an important step as we focus on growing a more diverse student body in our graduate program,” he said.
The world has taken note of PwC’s established diversity focus as it was recently named as the number one company for diversity in the 2012 Diversity Inc. Top 50 List.
