Events Scheduled for Homecoming 2002
Thursday, October 3
The Graduate Financial Management Association and the Finance Department are sponsoring a finance forum entitled "Corporate Strategy in a Struggling Economy" from 6:45 to 9:00 pm in Room S401 of the Pappajohn Business Building. Speakers are John Pappajohn, president of Equity Dynamics, Inc.; Jim Israel, senior vice president of John Deere Credit; and Al Tubbs, president of Ohnward Bancshares. A networking session for MBAs will be held prior to the forum from 5 to 6:30 pm.
Friday, October 4
The MBA Association is sponsoring its second annual best shot golf outing from 8 am to 1 pm at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City. Current MBA students, MBA alumni, companies that hire interns and full-time employees from the Tippie MBA Program, and Tippie School of Management staff and faculty are invited to attend.
Prior to the Homecoming parade, an MBA barbeque will be held from 4 to 6 pm in the courtyard of the John Pappajohn Business Building. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:15 pm and travels through downtown Iowa City. John Pappajohn, BSC52, is the honored guest at the parade.
Saturday, October 5
Alumni of the Tippie College of Business are invited to a pre-game brunch to be held from 8:30 to 10 am in the Andersen Galleria of the Pappajohn Business Building. Visitors can tour the building and attend a brief presentation by Finance Professor John Spitzer on Managing Your Personal Wealth.
The MBA Association tailgate sponsored by Kimberly Clark will be held from 9 am to 12 noon in the southeast corner of the Dental School Building parking lot.
The Homecoming football game against Purdue is scheduled for 11 am. Information on the game is available at: www.hawkeysports.com.
