Art Durnev Receives Best Paper Award
Art Durnev, associate professor of finance and Henry B. Tippie Research Fellow, conducted research revealing corporate social responsibility investment is associated with lower risk in company stock prices during economic downturns. Durnev’s research recently received the Best Paper award by the European Corporate Governance Institute.
The paper, entitled "Corporate Social Responsibility and Asset Pricing," was selected from a record number of submissions in the competition’s history. The research team of coauthors Durnev, Rui Albuquerque, and Yrjo Koskinen, both from Boston University, were awarded 5,000 euros by the ECGI for this achievement.
Durnev’s research was featured in the 2013 issue of the Department of Finance alumni magazine, Exchange.
