Wendy Ford is new MBA marketing director at UI's Henry B. Tippie School of Management

Wendy Ford, longtime director of the Iowa City/Coralville Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), has accepted the position of marketing director for the MBA Career Services office at the University of Iowa's Henry B. Tippie School of Management. She will begin her new duties Monday, April 16.

Ford's responsibilities will include oversight of MBA corporate relations and candidate referrals, developing and managing relationships with national and global employers, and assisting with the training and development of MBA students through the placement process.

"I am very excited about this opportunity," said Ford. "I look forward to being a part of the University of Iowa, to helping Iowa's MBA candidates in their career development and to marketing the outstanding value of the Tippie School of Management MBA to the business community."

Ford, a UI graduate and area resident for nearly 40 years, brings a diverse marketing background to the position. Her marketing career began at Hansen Lind Meyer Architects as a graphic designer in the public relations and marketing departments. In 1989 she was hired as executive director of the Iowa City/Coralville Convention and Visitors Bureau where she has led the marketing efforts of Iowa City and Coralville as a visitor destination.

Ford and her husband, Steve, live in Coralville and have three children in high school and one at Wartburg College.
