Transportation Available from Cedar Rapids for Youth Entrepreneur Camp

Cedar Rapids youth can take advantage of transportation to and from the University of Iowa's Youth Entrepreneur Camp July 14-18, sponsored by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) and Hills Bank and Trust.

JPEC will provide a van from central Cedar Rapids to Iowa City for the camp, which runs 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily in the John Pappajohn Business Building on the UI Campus.

The camp is for students in fourth, fifth or sixth grades who want to learn what it's like to start a business by learning about entrepreneurship through classroom and practical experience. They will identify the basic skills required of entrepreneurs, learn how to market a product or service, determine profit potential for a new venture, and by the end of the week, develop a plan to start their own businesses.

Cost for the five-day camp is $120, which includes bus transportation for tours to business sites, class materials, snacks and lunches. Several full scholarships are available for those in need. An application for the program is available at www.iowajpec.org.
