UI Career Center Recognizes Pella Corporation As Top Intern Employer
The company was selected from hundreds of organizations that sponsor UI interns.
Pella has hired six Henry B. Tippie College of Business students over the past two years. These students have majored in marketing, accounting, and management and organizations in the Tippie College.
In recognizing Pella, the Career Center looked at criteria including learning opportunities, evaluation of the progress and development of the intern, communication with the Career Center, and the intern and the ability to fulfill the university's mission to provide quality learning opportunities for interns. This is the sixth year the Career Center has recognized intern employers.
"At Pella, we are people-focused and involving students in our business is a key part of the recruiting strategy," said Karin Peterson, Pella's vice president of human resources. "During their internship, students gain essential on-the-job experience and we are able to evaluate their skills and contribute to their development while they experience the Pella culture. In the end it helps us hire high-quality people, and our customers ultimately benefit from their expertise. It's all about satisfying customers better than our competitors and it takes the right people to make that happen. That's why the internship program is of so much value to Pella."
Pella Corporation is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, marketing and sales of premium-quality windows and doors.
