Winter Commencement Ceremonies To Be Held December 20

The Tippie College of Business at The University of Iowa will celebrate winter commencement ceremonies at 9 a.m. Dec. 20 at Hancher Auditorium, with approximately 195 bachelor of business administration degrees to be conferred.

William Decker, interim vice president for Research at the UI, will confer the degrees. Donna Katen-Bahensky, director and CEO of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, will give the keynote address. Katie True, an accounting major from Avoca, Iowa will be the student speaker.

Five candidates in the undergraduate program will graduate with highest distinction, as well as two with high distinction and five with distinction. Five candidates will graduate with honors. Gary Fethke, dean of the Tippie College of Business, will preside over the ceremony.

The Tippie College of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in one of six areas including accounting, economics, finance, management and organizations, management science, and marketing. More than 1,500 undergraduate students at The University of Iowa are enrolled as business majors. UI business majors are juniors and seniors with a minimum grade point average of 2.75.
