Professional Development Conference at College of Business Sept. 20
The conference, sponsored by Hewitt Associates LLC, is open to all University of Iowa students and will include beneficial information on student leadership and job seeking skills. The luncheon speaker is David Hensley, director of the UI John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, who will present "Seizing Opportunities." Lunch in Room W401 of the Pappajohn Building is free to the first 75 registrants.
Morning workshops -- which will be offered at 9:30 a.m. and again at 10:30 a.m. -- include "Communication in Leadership," "Motivation in Student Groups" and "How to Work a Job Fair." A personality profile test will also be offered in the morning, but only at 9:30 a.m. Afternoon workshops -- offered at 1:30 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. -- include "Get Involved!," "Diversity in Student Groups," "How to Evaluate a Job Offer" and an MBA and graduate school panel.
The Professional Development Council is a group of business students who present this yearly conference to foster leadership skills. Council member Kate Avenarius said this conference will provide many opportunities for new and experienced student leaders. Registration is online until Sept. 19.
