EXPERTISE:

I am currently working with Professor Amy Colbert on a grant she has been awarded titled, “Faith and Flourishing at Work.” During Fall 2015 we began reading through transcripts of interviews conducted with relief workers to discern how they find and sustain meaning in their work. Based on our initial coding of the data, we discussed whether to propose changes/additions to the interview protocol in order to more closely examine the relationship these individuals have with the beneficiaries of their work and how those relationships shape the meaning individuals derive from their work. In the upcoming months we plan to further refine the interview protocol, review the literature on qualitative research (e.g., Lee, Corbin & Strauss, Miles & Huberman) and continue to read broadly in relevant areas (e.g., meaning of work, beneficiaries).
