Marketing major Johnathan Prunty thrives in a competitive environment.
"Everyone who knows me, plays basketball with me, or works with me--they know that I love to compete," he explains.
So it's no surprise that Johnathan has excelled at his summer internships where he has worked two summers in sales, traveling across the country, earning a salary and competing for sales incentives.
"I strive for the best and I like challenges; they're what make us become better. How we deal with challenges defines who we are."
Johnathan has earned numerous sales awards including a trip to Cabo San Lucas. He plans to intern a third summer at the same corporation, Southwestern Company, a provider of educational materials.
Johnathan chose to study marketing at Iowa because he recognizes its practicality.
"Marketing is behind every business' operations. It's what makes a company known and gets their name out to consumers."
