Tippie students have access to state-of-the-art technology in and out of the classroom. Today’s business world relies on technology. Courses and workshops help you learn how to use technology to make you more efficient and effective in the marketplace.
Iowa’s business facilities are wired for the way you work and communicate. A wireless network not only covers the Pappajohn Business Building but serves a great deal of the UI campus. The Pomerantz Business Library provides a wealth of online references and research tools as well as live market feeds from more than 120 financial markets. Students can use one of the largest computer labs on campus, use Tablet PCs, check out laptops from the library, and use software programs like Elluminate, enabling interaction between students and faculty online. Plus, Tippie faculty always have access to the latest instructional technology.
Help Desk
In order to better serve our users, Stead Technology Services Group centralized our first-tier support activities into a one-stop help desk. Darrin Thompson, Sherri Krob, and Nguyen Huynh (as well as our student desktop support staff) are located in W294 PBB and are ready to assist you with your technology needs. Along with this change, we have a centralized phone number (319-335-0873) for you to call with any technology questions. This single entry point will help us resolve your issues as efficiently as possible.
Our Technology Team
The Tippie College of Business recognized early on that technology would be important to our programs. We have our own technology team, the Stead Technology Services Group (STSG), which is on-site to provide the best service to our faculty, staff, and students. This team works diligently to make sure that classroom technology is always
up-to-date, that servers and networks are secure, and that questions are answered in a timely fashion. It’s part of the customer-focused programming that you find at the Tippie College.
