Projector Instructions

Classrooms

  • To turn on the projector, press the Power button or press any of the Source buttons (see a diagram of the switcher). The green light on the projector will turn on and the light next to the Power Button and the currently selected source will begin flashing while the projector warms up. Warm up takes approximately 2 minutes—when warm, the Power light will be lit continously.
  • To select an input source, push one of the Source buttons.
    • PC selects the podium computer for output
    • VCR selects the video tape player for output
    • DVD selects the DVD player for output
    • Laptop selects the external SVGA cable (for laptop connection)
    • Document Camera selects the document for output
    • the source without the label will blank the screen
  • Please turn projector off after your class to conserve lamp life.
  • NOTE: the projector will turn itself off after 200 minutes (3.5 hours). To resume, press the desired Source button (or adjust the volume). There may be a short delay for the picture to appear on the display.
  • To turn off the projector, push the Power button. The green light on the projector will go off and the light next to the Power button and the current selected source will flash while the projector lamp cools off. The fan in the projector will continue to run, even when the lamp is off.
  • Volume for each source is controlled by the volume knob on the Switcher Control panel. Turn the knob to the right to increase volume, and to the left to decrease.
    Note: When the maximum or minimum level has been reached, a red light will come on next to the volume knob.

Large Auditoriums (W10 and W151)

  • To turn on the projector, press and hold the red Display Power button (see a diagram of the switcher) for 2-3 seconds. The green light on the projector will turn on, and the red button will begin flashing while the projector warms up. Warm up takes approximately 2 minutes—when warm, the red button will come on continously.
  • To select an input source, push one of the white buttons in the bottom row. The switchers are all labeled appropriately.
    • PC selects the podium PC computer for output
    • VCR selects the video tape player for output
    • MAC selects the podium Macintosh for output
    • LPTP selects the external SVGA cable (for laptop connection)
    • Elmo selects the Elmo opaque projector for input
  • NOTE: The monitor displaying the PC and Macintosh will only display the output that is going to the projector, even if the projector lamp is off. In order to view the output of the PC on the monitor, you must select the PC input source on the switcher. Alternately, to see the output of the Macintosh, you must select the MAC input source on the switcher.
  • The three colored buttons next to the Display Power button (Display Mute, RGB Mute, and Audio Mute) should be off during use.
  • Please turn projector off after your class to conserve lamp life.
