For the fourth consecutive year, the Tippie College's Henry Fund student investment portfolio was named best in its class at a national conference.

Students in the Pomerantz Career Center’s Career Leadership Academy performed Random Acts of Kindness and sponsored a senior prom.
The family of the late Iowa City ice cream maker Paul Heyn has given a gift to the Jacobson Institute of Youth Entrepreneurship to honor a man who loved to teach kids how to run an ice cream parlor.

Awards
Mick Mount, professor of management and organizations, won the Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award from the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Kenneth Brown, associate professor of management and organizations, received the University’s President and Provost Award for Teaching Excellence for 2009.
Donna Pearcy, chief risk officer in the UI's Office for Risk Management, Insurance, and Loss Prevention and adjunct lecturer in finance, received the UI's Distinguished Leadership Award for her efforts as the University's incident commander during the flood of 2008.
Jeff Reuter, coordinator for instructional technology in the College's Stead Technology Services Group, and several UI colleagues, received a UI Improving Our Workplace Award (IOWA) for a new print-from-anywhere service.
Economics Ph.D. graduate Andriy Norets has been honored with the Graduate College Dean’s Distinguished Dissertation Award.
In-Sue Oh, a Ph.D. student in management and organizations, received the 2009 Sandra Barken Outstanding Mentor Award in the social sciences from the UI Graduate Student Senate for his dedication to mentoring junior collegians.
