Iowa alumnus and venture capitalist John Pappajohn, BSC52, will receive an honorary doctorate of humane letters on May 16.
Tippie MBA programs in marketing and finance have received top 15 rankings from The Princeton Review, and U.S. News & World Report ranked the Full-time and PM programs among the nation's best.
The Tippie-based Iowa Center for Wealth Management is a new online resource that provides unbiased financial education, guidance, and advice as a free public service.
Students graduating this spring from Tippie's Hawkinson Institute of Business Finance are having little difficulty finding jobs in the financial services industry.
Three Tippie students showcased their innovative undergraduate research at the Iowa State Capitol in March. They joined other student researchers from the UI, Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa.

Prior to founding Code Hennessy & Simmons LLC in 1988, Andy Code was a vice president with Citicorp's Leveraged Capital Group in Chicago. Code received a BBA and an MBA from Iowa.

Aaron Mikulsky has worked in the property casualty insurance industry for 15 years. He currently is an assistant vice president and regional operations manager for the central region.
Awards
Nancy Hauserman, professor of management and organizations and Williams Teaching Professor, and Todd Houge, lecturer in finance, each have won a 2010 President and Provost Award for Teaching Excellence in recognition of their outstanding teaching.
Three University of Iowa student entrepreneurs won first place in the statewide New Ventures Business Plan competition. Casey Everts, Andy Wright, and Robert Hu won for the business they own, Dibzees, an entertainment auction website that sells high-end purchases at a discount.
Tippie students who attended the Association of Information Technology Professionals National Collegiate Conference in St. Louis in March came home with two awards.
Nate Boettcher and Austin Schuler placed first in the Microsoft Office Solutions Contest (79 teams), and Boettcher and Greg Pepping placed third in the Database Contest (49 teams). This is the first time that Tippie management sciences students have placed in two events.
