Financial Times: Tippie MBA Has Highest Graduate Placement Rate
The Full-time MBA Program has the highest job placement rate of any U.S.-based MBA program, beating out Harvard, University of Chicago, and the Wharton School.
MBA Students Take Top Honors in Case Competition
A team of four Strategic Innovation Academy MBA students took first place in this year's Illinois Strategy Case Competition in Champaign, IL. Tippie MBA students have recently taken first or second place in two other competitions: Baylor University's MBA National Case Competition in Ethical Leadership (first) and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Cup (second).
Making a Bad Earnings Report Less Bad
Assistant professor of accounting Richard Mergenthaler finds that releasing bad earnings news earlier leads to fewer shareholder lawsuits. Sued firms also suffer an enormous cost to their reputations, Mergenthaler said, so avoiding such suits helps companies' bottom lines.
Okoboji Institute on Big Ten Network
The Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute will be featured in the next edition of Iowa Magazine on the Big Ten Network. The program debuts Feb. 28 at noon (central time) and will air periodically through March. Eight UI entrepreneurship students are chosen each year to participate in the week-long institute.
