How the UPO Serves You

The Undergraduate Program Office (UPO) is here to help you find success both inside and outside of the classroom. We are involved with a wide variety of activities, including:

  • Recruiting and admission
  • Orienting newly admitted business students through our ADMIT ONE program
  • Teaching the Direct Admit Seminar (6B:020) for first-year students admitted into the college directly from high school
  • Advising Tippie students about their course schedule, choice of major, professional development, degree requirements, and college and university policies
  • Providing Tippie students with leadership opportunities through student organizations and by sending students to leadership conferences
  • Offering different programs to help students feel part of the Tippie family: Tippie Fest, Family Weekend, Business Week, and the Student Organization Leadership Banquet
  • Awarding scholarship money to eligible Tippie students
  • Encouraging and facilitating student participation in Tippie-sponsored international experiences including London Winter, global internships, or CIMBA, or one of the many programs offered through UI Study Abroad
  • Supporting the college's Honors Program
  • Organizing events for graduating Tippie students (commencement brunch) and overseeing commencement at Carver-Hawkeye Arena

The UPO website provides general information; however, we would like to get to know you, so don't hesitate to stop by our office in C140 Pappajohn Business Building or use our online scheduling system to make an appointment with your UPO advisor.
