How the UPO Serves You
The Undergraduate Program Office (UPO) is here to help you find success both inside and outside of the classroom. We are involved with a wide variety of activities, including:
- Recruiting and admission
- Orienting newly admitted business students through our ADMIT ONE program
- Teaching the Direct Admit Seminar (6B:020) for first-year students admitted into the college directly from high school
- Advising Tippie students about their course schedule, choice of major, professional development, degree requirements, and college and university policies
- Providing Tippie students with leadership opportunities through student organizations and by sending students to leadership conferences
- Offering different programs to help students feel part of the Tippie family: Tippie Fest, Family Weekend, Business Week, and the Student Organization Leadership Banquet
- Awarding scholarship money to eligible Tippie students
- Encouraging and facilitating student participation in Tippie-sponsored international experiences including London Winter, global internships, or CIMBA, or one of the many programs offered through the UI Office for Study Abroad
- Supporting the college's Honors Program
- Organizing events for graduating Tippie students (commencement brunch) and overseeing commencement at Carver-Hawkeye Arena
