Prospective Student Admissions
Highly qualified* high school students who satisfy the following criteria can be admitted directly to the Tippie College of Business.
- Completed application to the University of Iowa, Tippie College of Business.
- All applicants must have a composite ACT of 27 or higher and a high school GPA of 3.70 or higher (SAT critical reading and math score of 1210).
- Students directly admitted to the Tippie College of Business are eligible to apply for first-year scholarships in the college. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2015.
*Applicants who do not meet the criteria above but present strong academic records will be carefully considered.
*Applicants already admitted for Fall 2014 as prebusiness majors may request an individual review for direct admission into the Tippie College of Business as an entering first year student if you meet either the direct admission criterion of an ACT composite score of 27 or above (SAT critical reading and math score of 1210 or above) or a high school GPA of 3.70 (on a 4.00 scale). Requests will be accepted through August 1. Applicants that have a cumulative high school GPA below 3.4 must also fax or email a current copy of their high school transcript along with the request for individual review.
Students who satisfy the admission criteria for the University of Iowa may be admitted to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as a prebusiness major. Students admitted as prebusiness majors will typically apply to the Tippie College of Business around the start of their 2nd year.
