Prospective Student Admissions

Direct Admission

Highly qualified high school students who satisfy the following criteria can be admitted directly to the Tippie College of Business.

  • All applicants must apply to the university as a prebusiness major.
  • All applicants must have a composite ACT of 27 or higher and a high school GPA of 3.70 or higher (ACT/SAT equivalency table).
  • Students directly admitted to the College of Business are eligible to apply to become Tippie Scholars and earn first-year scholarships. The deadline to apply is December 15, 2012.

*You may request an individual review for direct admission into the Tippie College of Business as an entering first-year student if you meet either the direct admission criterion of an ACT composite score of 27 or above (SAT critical reading and math score of 1210 or above) or a high school GPA of 3.70 (on a 4.00 scale). Requests will be accepted through August 1.

Prebusiness Admission

Students who satisfy the admission criteria for the University of Iowa may be admitted to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as a prebusiness major. Information regarding prebusiness admission criteria can be found at: http://admissions.uiowa.edu/undergraduate-programs/first-year-admission-college-liberal-arts-and-sciences. Students admitted as prebusiness majors will typically apply to the Tippie College of Business around the start of their 2nd year.
