Undergraduate Business

Pass/Nonpass

Up to 15 semester hours (s.h.) required for a BBA degree may be taken pass/nonpass (P/N). The mark of P is assigned to grades C- and above, results in earned credit for the course, and is not included in GPA calculations. The mark of N is entered for grades of D+ and below, does not result in earned credit for the course, and is not included in GPA calculations. Eligibility requirements for the P/N grading option include:

  1. Consent of the instructor. Students who wish to change a course from graded to P/N must obtain the signature of the instructor and, if appropriate, their advisor.

  2. Students must be in good academic standing to take a course P/N.

  3. A maximum of two P/N courses may be taken in one semester or session.

  4. Courses that are used to satisfy General Education Program requirements, prerequisite requirements, requirements for the minor in business administration, and all courses offered by the Tippie College of Business may not be taken P/N.

  5. Students may register for P/N grading beginning the first day of classes and up to the last day to add for that session; contact your advisor or the Office of the Registrar for more information regarding deadlines.

Direct and standard students admitted to the University prior to Fall 2009 may have up to 16 s.h. of P-N and they may not count more than 8 s.h. of P-N credit in the last 60 s.h.
