Process for Non-Tippie Students to Request Permission to Enroll in Restricted Business Courses
Students who are not admitted to a degree seeking undergraduate program in the Tippie College of Business may request special permission to enroll in restricted courses. The policies and procedures outlined below provide additional information and instructions for requesting permission to enroll.
Business and Prebusiness majors – Please see your academic advisor, do not go to the department offering the course.
All other majors – Students not admitted to Tippie may request permission to enroll in restricted business courses. Please refer to the guidelines below for related policies and instructions:
• The majority of Economics (ECON) and Entrepreneurship (ENTR) courses are open, so you do not need special permission to enroll (but you must meet the prerequisites).
• Selected courses in the Management Sciences Dept. (Business Analytics and Information Systems) have special restrictions on during the second week of early registration that will allow majors from specific majors to enroll without special permission. Please refer to the MYUI course listing for details.
• Beginning the second week of early registration, students not admitted to Tippie may request permission to enroll in restricted business courses by contacting the department offering the course. Departments may have different processes, so start by contacting the department administrative assistant.
