Taking part in a student organization is an important way to enhance your business education. You'll have the opportunity to take group trips, meet industry leaders, volunteer in the community, and gain valuable insight into the career path you are considering.
Tippie organizations fall into two general categories:
- groups associated with academic majors
- groups related to service and professional development. (These address the academic, professional development, and social needs of students.)
Interested in forming a new student group? Please contact Mike Schluckebier.
Academic Interest Organizations
The following organizations associated with academic interests offer Tippie students a wide range of academic and career opportunities specific to each major.
Gamma Iota Sigma provides members ample opportunities to take on leadership roles. We also bring in industry leaders to speak about important topics that can help shape students' career paths.
Tippie Real Estate Club serves to maximize resources that provide opportunities for student members to expand their knowledge of the real estate industry and to grow existing career networks. GCBA benefits American and Chinese students through various activities: language practice, China business-related lectures, philanthropic work, and much more. Both domestic and international students are welcome!
Members of the Hawkeye Sports Business Organization (HSBO) learn about the sports industry through guest speakers, professional trips, and planned events. Students also benefit from valuable networking opportunities with industry professionals and Tippie alumni.
